Jimi Devine’s Hot Birthday List: A Cannabis Adventure
Being a conduit for the hype, my birthday is actually a celebration of the heat and we’ve got all the strains you’ll need to celebrate with the Transbay Challenge 2 this weekend.
While my birthday party appears to be one of the biggest hash parties since the Soviets invaded Afghanistan, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a large supply of flowers from either. elite in the mix. While I like to smoke for every tax bracket all year round, for this range we’re going a little more exotic. I consider it self-care.
Also, a fun fact, I’m sharing a birthday with award-winning Lina Lecaro! She said she liked sativas. I can’t have more LA than this!
When it comes to strains, this list features the latest offerings from some of the killers, the results of great pheno hunts, and a fantastic new take on a big name cut from elite growers.
Alien Labs – Atomic Chronicle
We were among the first outside of the Alien Labs team to see the results of their recent pheno hunt as they sought cuts on par with their larger work over the years. Their latest offer, Atomic Chronic, will absolutely slip into the catalog without a problem. Although they reduced the peloton, they did not pick a winner for the Atomic Apple x Kryptochronic couple. The ones we saw were absolute heat, but Alien Labs founder Ted Lidie assured me that pheno hunting was up to Highlander rules and in the end there couldn’t be any. one. We asked him to save the second best for a rapper because it’s definitely going to get hot again.
CAM – Kush Mints
Kush Mints has contained a ton of our favorite strains over the years and is one of the biggest hits to release Seed Junky Genetics in recent years. While we’ve seen many versions, few come close to the Kush Mints grown in Sacramento. We have CAM’s interpretation tied with Green Dragon for our favorite version of the strain. The CAM version is so drenched in trichomes that the surface of the buds almost looks slimy.
Green Dragon – Secret Gelato
The High Times SoCal hybrid flower winner brought back the heat with their new Secret Gelato. They also entered it into the NorCal interpretation of the Cannabis Cup. The judges still have a few weeks to get their marks, but we certainly had it planned for a podium spot. Although this is a Gelato and the fact that there are currently crazy Gelato pairs out there in the world, it was probably the second most unique flavor on the list after the Atomic Chronic. There were those very San Francisco dessert terps that made Cookies and Gelato famous in the first place, but there’s a lot more going on as well.
LoKey Farms – Heavy Fog # 4
One of the big winners at Greenwolf’s Zalympix last month, Heavy Fog # 4 knocked the already famous LoKey Farms down into the stratosphere as they looked around the podium and saw some of the biggest names in weed next door. of them. And it was absolutely deserved. We had Heavy Fog # 4 as the most beautiful and fragrant bud of the 16 Zalympix entries. Expect to see it on the shelves soon.
CaliX – Biscoff
The Biscoff is a fantastic pairing. The parents are a Biscotti x Bloodline pair crossed at Gelato 41. Pheno # 85 was the winner of a 250 seed hunt. The CaliX team told us that they made the selection because of its consistent heavy resin content, THC, and flavor complexity. They argued that the flavor was similar to Cantucci Gelato, followed by pure gasoline. We found this to be a fair assessment.
