Another man brought a gun to the southern plains fair
On Saturday October 2, another person was arrested at the South Plains Fair for bringing a gun.
KAMC News reports that all of this happened a little after 8 p.m.
A witness told the Lubbock Police Department that he saw the suspect, now identified as Miguel Saenz, drop a gun before picking it up and running through the fairgrounds. An officer on leave with LPD was informed by another officer.
Eventually, the officer on leave located Saenz, grabbed his arm, and questioned him about what he had been told. Saenz told the officer the gun was in his backpack. A search of the backpack confirmed this.
Saenz was then taken into custody and taken by a patrol unit outside the fairgrounds to the Lubbock County Detention Center.
It’s also not the first time this has happened this season. KFYO News previously reported that a miner brought a gun to the South Plains Fair. This minor is said to have become “hostile” when the police confronted him. The minor reportedly spat in the face of an officer while he was placed in a patrol vehicle.
A comment on the matter has yet to be given by the South Plains Fair.
